Viper SC team

Vipers Sports Club manager Javier Martinez Espinosa has named the team that will face Algerian outfit Club Sportive Constantine in the crunch Total CAF Champions League encounter today at St.Mary’s stadium.

The gaffer has made a few changes to the team that started against BUL FC in the league this week with the notable inclusion being Bashir Asiku.

The defender who has been out for a couple of games returns to the team fold replacing Ibrahim Kiyemba at right back.

Skipper Taddeo Lwanga who sustained an injury in the 3-1 win over BUL FC has failed to recover fully in time and thus he is ruled out of the clash.

In his absence, versatile player Geoffrey Wasswa will take charge as the team captain and as well fill the void in the holding midfield position.

It should be noted that both Wasswa and Lwanga missed the first leg in Algeria due to suspension.

Young goalkeeper Derrick Ochan starts ahead of Fabien Mutombora who is just returning from injury while Bashir Ssekagya is ruled out of the game after sustaining an injury in the first leg.

Ochan made his debut at Vipers SC coming on as the Venoms lost 1-0 away in North Africa.

He was also maintained in goal for the league game against BUL FC which was his first start and first league game as well.

Halid Lwaliwa and Livingstone Mulondo maintain their slots in the centre back while left back Yayo Lutimba completes the defence line.

Moses Waiswa and Brian Nkuubi Ssemakula will play as the creative midfielders feeding the front three of Dan Sserunkuma, Tito Okello and Noah Wafula.

The winner on aggregate will advance to the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
