CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
Round: 1st Leg
CS Constantine Vs Vipers
7pm (9pm EAT) Stade Mohamed Hamlaoi
Javier Martinez Espinosa has named Brain Nkuubi, Rahmat Ssenfuka and Dan Sserunkuma in his starting lineup against Algerian champions Club Sportif Constantine this evening.
The trio started on the bench two weeks ago when the Venoms lost 2-1 away to El Merrikh in Khartoum in the preliminary round. Sserunkuma and Nkuubi started in the return league in Kitende while Ssenfuka was an unused substitute in that emphatic 1-0 win over the Sudanese club.
The Mexican tactician will start Ssenfuka in the holding midfield role who will be helped by Moses Waiswa and Nkuubi while Tito Okello and Abraham Ndugwa will play in the right and left wing respectively with Sserunkuma leading the striking line.
Halid Lwaliwa and Livingstone’s Mulondo will partner each other in centre back as Yayo Lutimba and Ibrahim Kiyemba will occupy the left and right back positions.
Vipers will be seeking for a descent away result that will keep their hopes of qualifying for the group stage alive before returning to St Mary’s stadium next Saturday for the return leg.
CS Constantine were held to a barren draw at their own yard by Gamtel of Gambia before winning 0-1 in Banjul.
