Club President Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa has made a great contribution to the game of football and sports generally in Uganda for along time.
It is not surprising that when his name was read out as the recipient of the FUFA Presidential Award of 2018, the crowd gave him a standing ovation.
Fufa President Moses Magogo before handing the award to Mulindwa lauded him for the enormous contribution towards sports and indicated he is a key pillar in nurturing of talent.
“This award is given out to individuals that have had an outstanding contribution to football over the years and indeed Dr.Lawrence Mulindwa deserves all the praises. From making St. Mary’s Kitende a bedrock of talent, a former Fufa President and single-handedly building a state of the art stadium, he has truly served the game,” said Magogo.
Mulindwa while making his speech appreciated the recognition and preached unity as a tool that will help football to grow.
“I want to thank Fufa President Moses Magogo and the entire federation
for recognising my contribution towards football. I’m happy that we come together as a football family to celebrate those that have excelled especially our players. I believe football is for us all, let us keep united to help the game grow and the dream to play at the 2026 Fifa World Cup will be achieved.” – Lawrence Mulindwa.
