Vipers Sports Club maintained its grip at the top of the table and remained unbeaten this season after drawing one all against KCCA FC on Saturday.
Not the result that team manager Javier Martinez Espinoza wanted but he hailed the team for the good display against title rivals KCCA.
“We are not contented with the result because we go into every game looking for three points. But I’m happy with the display from the players. They played well and gave us a good game.” He said.
Espinoza indicated that the display from either team was good for the fans because they enjoyed thrilling action.
“I believe the fans got served well. The display from the two sides was top notch and gave the true image of the best two teams in the league.” Said Espinoza.
Asked about the performance of Geoffrey Wasswa who was employed as a holding midfielder, the Mexican tactician heaped praise on him for being versatile.
“In modern football, you should be able to play in more than one position and Wasswa is an important player in our team. He is versatile and played well in the midfield giving the defence cover.” Espinoza indicated.
Dan ‘Muzeeyi’ Sserunkuma scored for Vipers SC in the 35th minute but KCCA FC rallied back through Filbert Obenchan before goalkeeper Fabien Mutombora saved Saddam Juma’s penalty.
The Venoms return to action on Wednesday against Express FC at Muteesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.
