Vipers Sports Club remained top of the table after picking a valuable point away against Kirinya Jinja SS.

Despite leading the game on two occasions, the hosts were able to rally back as the game ended in a two all draw.

Noah Wafula and Dan ‘Muzeeyi’ Sserunkuma scored for the Venoms but Kirinya Jinja SS who were reduced to ten men rallied back through a brace from Joel Madondo.

Kenyan import Wafula fired Vipers SC into an early lead with a scorcher outside the area. He sent a ferocious effort into the roof of the net to send Vipers SC ahead.

Kirinya Jinja SS equalised in the 29th minute but Vipers SC regained their lead five minutes to time.

Goalkeeper Muhammad Didi was sent off after hitting Wafula with the elbow and Sserunkuma stepped up to convert from the spot.

The hosts levelled matters two minutes into the game still through Madondo.

Despite efforts from the Venoms, Kirinya Jinja SS remained resilient. Manager Javier Martinez Espinoza brought on Brian Nkuubi, Joseph Jjanjali and Halid Lwaliwa for Rahmat Ssenfuka, Muzeeyi Sserunkuma and Abraham Ndugwa respectively.

Vipers SC remained top of the table on 13 points. The next game for Venoms is a home encounter against KCCA FC on Saturday.
