Vipers SC 1-0 Nyamityobora FC
Vipers SC continued their perfect start to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League season with a third successive win when they beat visiting Nyamityobora FC 1-0.
It was the first time the Venoms had begun with three wins out of three in the top tier of Ugandan football, keeping them right up top of the log on 9 points.
Javier Martinez Espinoza’s side took the lead in the 14th minute when Nyamityobora’s goalkeeper Hillary Jomi’s poor clearance of Moses Waiswa’s shot found the unmarked Dan Sserunkuma who tapped the ball into an open net.
Nyamityobora’s only chance came in the opening minutes when John Wesley Kisakye failed to make that quick run after Fabien Mutombora had failed to handle the ball.
In the end, a dominant first-half performance was enough and the Venoms were able to take their foot off the pedal slightly after the break.
Vipers will be back in action on Wednesday next week when they face SC Villa in Namboole.
